How living abroad rewires your brain

Hey friends,

Firstly, thanks for not unsubscribing. I was expecting a little churn after having not written to you for so long.

Plus, I completely f**ked up the merge tag (that ugly piece of code at the beginning of the last email), which - I will admit - was a moment of such high-grade amateurishness that I was required to go scream into a pillow for a few minutes.

Yet, you’re still here.

Truth be told, I’m deciding whether this list will become a more regular thing. What is this space now that I have a new newsletter darling that demands a growing share of my time?

You, however, are still my favourites, and so one thing I’ve determined it will not be is a mere announcement list. This is no klaxon indicating the dumping of yet more content onto the content portal alongside all the other content.

However, sometimes, the dumping of yet more content onto the content portal alongside all the other content does leave behind little offcuts worth sharing as tiny web gifts.

And one of the nice side benefits of making my latest video was ending up with some beautiful split-screen stills.

The video itself (How living abroad rewires your brain) was filmed in and around my former hometown, Maastricht, with a bit of wandering, and a lot of thinking about how living abroad rewires your brain. Thanks to my editor Tiago's colour-grading, it looks far better than I had any right to expect.

Given that I don’t have Instagram, and I spend the minimum viable time possible on the professional-AI-slop-portal LinkedIn, I thought it might be nice to share some of the screengrabs here as a sort of bonus. So, yes… content for the content portal alongside all the other content. But bonus.

That’s all for now. No grand plan just yet. Just a small space on the web for the things I’m making and thinking constantly about, whether that's YouTube videos or my own damn mistakes.

Thanks for being here.
